Understanding Roles and Permissions in Qapita Platform

Qapita provides a robust system for managing user access through pre-defined and custom roles, ensuring that each individual in your organization has the appropriate level of access to sensitive information and functionalities.

Standard Roles

Qapita offers several pre-defined roles tailored for common organizational positions. These roles come with distinct access levels, simplifying permission management.

  • Admin: Possesses comprehensive access, including a "Detailed view" of the Cap Table by default.
  • Investor: Designed for stakeholders with investment interests.
  • Employee: Standard access, typically with "No access" to the Cap Table by default.
  • Advisor: For external or internal advisors needing specific data.
  • Board Director: Tailored for board members requiring strategic overview.

The Cap Table is a critical component, with Admin users having detailed visibility, while regular employees typically have no access unless specifically granted.

Creating a Custom Role

For unique organizational needs, Qapita allows you to create custom roles with granular permissions. This ensures that every user, regardless of their standard role, can be granted precise access based on their responsibilities.

You can define permissions for:

  • Cap Table
  • Stakeholder
  • Equity Award
  • Others (User management, Settings, etc.)
  • Data Room
  • Reports
  • Manage Users

Steps to Create a New Custom Role:
